Dylan at almost 20 months!

I had every intention of doing an 18 month photo shoot of Dylan.  I decided against having a professional do it this time simply because the photographer we use is very busy with weddings and I am very busy with school.  We attempted to take pictures on several occassions but other things happened (sickness, weather, etc.)  It was a little hot and Dylan was ready for a nap, but I think I got a few cute shots.  I have not edited, so this is just a sneak peak!

Brent and Cindy's Wedding

My Aunt Cindy got married last Saturday.  It was wonderful to see her so happy.  She wanted a small, simple wedding with family and very close friends.  She did not want to spend a lot of money.  She asked me to take pictures at the wedding and said she didn't want anything elaborate.  So...here's a sneak peek.  I have a lot of editing to do and have a greater respect for wedding photographers.  Capturing family is a tough job!

Brent waiting for the wedding to begin.

One of my favorites of Brent.  He just seemed to take in every moment of the day.

This picture makes me smile, laugh, and cry.  I just love how happy everyone looks.  Nathan, Cindy's son, walked her down the aisle.  At this moment I didn't know if I would be able to take pictures during the entire ceremony.  He looks so much like his daddy; it brought back so many wonderful memories but also made the day very emotional.

This picture holds a funny story!  Cindy was discussing the pictures she wanted with everyone and trying to get those that needed to stay.  Brent and I were in full picture mode.  I love the fact that Cindy has no clue that his hands look like this on her back!

Roses

One more lady bug picture!

I love pictures of nature.  These roses can be found in my yard.

Ladybug, ladybug!

I made a trip down memory lane this weekend.  Dylan's absolute favorite thing to do is to play outside.  He loves the freedom just to go as he pleases!  There are many times that we find ourselves being pulled to the front door by our little man as he says, "side."  Most evenings we enjoy at leas an hour of outside time after we eat.  It's a great way to wind down from the day.
This weekend was absolutely beautiful! Dylan and I ventured out a lot. On Saturday afternoon, Michael and I decided we would grill out and just enjoy the evening at home. Michael went to do a quick errand and while he was gone Dylan and I ventured outside. This is where my trip down memory lane begins. As a little girl, I simply loved ladybugs (or any bug for that sake). A ladybug in the grass caught my eye as Dylan and I walked around the yard. I showed it to Dylan and he was in LOVE!! To our amazement, there were TONS of them in the patch of grass we sat down in. We just had the best time picking them up and letting them crawl all over us. I was afraid Dylan would try to squeeze them but he didn't! It was so much fun. I'm glad I am getting to relive some of my favorite childhood memories with Dylan!

Freckles

When Michael and I started dating he lived alone with his 14 year old dashound, Cricket.  She loved me (yeah right).  I moved in on her territory.  As long as I can remember, I have always had a pet.  When Michael and I got married, I left behind 3 dogs at my parent's.  I really wanted a "pet" of my own.  I begged and pleaded with Michael.  The answer was always "no."  We had Cricket and she was enough.  Well she was a handful, but was really getting old and somewhat "pitiful."  I knew we wouldn't have her much longer and constantly thought about how hard it was going to be on Michael.  At least once a week, I would beg Michael to take me to get a puppy.  Every time we went by PetSmart I wanted to stop, I looked on-line at the rescue websites, I searched the newspapers, and made my way to the animals at every festival.  One day I convinced him!  He took me to a store in Anderson, but they wanted a ridiculous amount of money.  My birthday came and my mom and I went shopping.  I told Michael I would be coming home with a dog.  I think he thought I was joking.  As my mom and I drove past PetSmart, the cutest "red-haired" dog stood out to me.  We stopped, I went straight to his cage never noticing any of the other dogs, and asked to see him.  The girl looked very sad as she took him out of the cage and handed him to me.  She explained that she was his "foster" mom.  She loved him and really wanted to keep him, but with 3 other dogs it just wasn't going to work.  I played with him, let him lick my face, and jump all over me.  She sat and smiled and just watched.  I then looked at her and asked 2 very important questions:  How big will he get? and What's his name?  She answered the first question with, "about 30 lbs."  That was about 15 more than I wanted.  I began to debate the thoughts of him coming home with me.  I looked at his sweet face as she answered my second question, "His name is Freckles."  My heart melted at that very moment and my face beamed with pure joy.  He would fit right in!  I am covered with freckles and Michael has a few.  I explained that I thought it was meant to be.  I wanted to adopt him.  So......3 years later, I still love that sweet face.  We could not have asked for a better dog.  He is wonderful with Dylan and I love watching them play.
